We thought you might be interested to see the text of the message we sent to fellow yogis at the Sunbury Yoga Society celebrating their Christmas meal:
Dearest Guruji (our very own Bringer of Light),
Greetings to you, and all the students of the Sunbury Yoga Society, from your friends at the Shibumi Yoga Centre, Kidderminster, Worcestershire. Thank you Guruji, for so generously sharing your meditational experiences and wisdom with your fans at our regular Wednesday, ‘Shibumi Café‘, skype satsangs. Our small but devoted group have drawn great inspiration from your teachings and self-deprecatory stories.
You are oft-times heretical, querulous and sometimes cantankerous (and they are some of your good points), yet always kind and compassionate and a true champion and exemplar of yoga’s spiritual path. We take great comfort from one who’s ego is so huge, (‘a typically male claim’, observed Deb), that we merely trail in the dust of your resplendence.
We have had the pleasure of meeting a few of you, and to the rest of the student body we can only offer our empathy as victims of ‘Terrible Tuesday’ and ‘Weird Wednesday’ classes. We are with you in spirit tonight and send our brotherly and sisterly best wishes to fellow practitioners, seekers and travellers.
Enjoy your evening of splendid grub with lots of laughs and maybe a little tipple or two or three or six. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. Loving regards.
yogini rosalind widdowson, swami tantramurti saraswati, deb’ananda’, salad, jude, charles, bon & jon, and the many others who have come to know and love you.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om
