‘Style’ may be defined as the way in which something is said, done, expressed, or performed.  It is a combination of distinctive features of literary or artistic expression, execution, or performance which, as with all aspects of the Way of Shibumi, can’t be learned, merely discovered.  From seeds of inspiration, and by continuous trial and effort, it may be cultivated in the native soil of an individual personality to evolve into an ever-changing quality of imagination and individuality, expressed through one’s actions and tastes.  So, as with so many aspects of the spiritually-orientated personality, it remains and ineffable quality that defies ready explanation.  Yet even the ordinarily dim-witted recognise style in its many expressions.  There’s something of quality that marks something out as having style, and it is a most attractive quality.
