Photography for Yoga Teachers

At Shibumi Studios we specialise in photography for yoga teachers, not only for our own books and teacher training materials, but for all yoga practitioners who need yoga photography for existing or updated websites.  If you need a yoga website, or wish to update to one that will format for the latest generation of smart phones and tablets, consider a visit to our creative space and take advantage of the skillset and kindly guidance of a creative team that understands the needs of yoga marketplace yet has the sensitivity to understand the spiritual aspiration behind your particular form of yoga practise.  We can also work via Skype and email to design and produce adverts and publicity handouts and you can even chose from our extensive range of published and unpublished materials.

The creative team here have over forty years experience of shooting yoga photography and on a range of Natural Health subjects, including styling for nine published pictorial books.  When you choose Shibumi Studios for your yoga teacher photography, you have the benefit of Rosalind Widdowson‘s fabulous creative styling and Swami Tantramurti‘s graphic design and publishing experience.  We have the skill sets to retouch the photographs to your liking, if required.  We can help make sure all your posture work is perfect for the camera and will also prepare your pictures for web use and can help with adverts, letterheads, brochures and websites (see our Websites for Yoga Teachers page).

Our full-sized, natural-light studio offers a lovely, flattering soft light with true colours and skin tones.  We have the space to quickly create unique mini-sets with an extensive range of yoga props.  When available we can offer our photography as part an affordably-priced Short-Stay Residency (see Training page) deal to allow you to allow you extra time to settle in, relax, and let us know specifically what your needs are.  Alternatively, you can stay at our local hotel, the Gainsborough House Hotel, our main teaching venue.  We even have a range of outfits that can help you with styling your shoot (see ‘Styling Yoga Outfits’ page) which are available for your use.  Having shot yoga postures for over forty years, you can rest assured you are in extremely experienced hands.

Photography for yoga teachers usually requires a two-hour shooting session, followed by a couple of hours post-production.  We can offer you the shoot and production for just £100 if you are having a new website with us, and we are more than happy to do just the photography and production session at £150.  To book our services, please call Tantramurti on: 07804-235816.

“Ros and Tantro were just lovely.  The atmosphere at their home and in Shibumi’s studio and garden was very special and I was quickly at my ease and inspired with ideas.  I’ve absorbed so much in such a short time but it feels natural to me and I can’t wait to incorporate them into my classes.  They helped me find my direction by being centred and really knowing what’s right and possible for me.  And I’ve got some incredible photos as evidence of my stay and I can’t wait to get them on my site.  I can’t rate the experience highly enough.  Everyone deserves some magical time at Shibumi.”  (Yogini Sally Hall)

“It was a real treat for me to take time out for myself and share with my wise and caring friends.  Ros always creates the most incredible home environments and I sleep like a baby.  Shibumi Studios is a wonderful natural-light space and before I knew it we were practising and photographing as I got the shots I needed to refresh my website.  It’s fascinating watching Tantro work and he’s already produced me a new advert and is working on a refurbished website that I will be happy to represent  me.  Definitely an experience I plan to repeat.”  (Suzanne Arnold)

Shibumi Studios is your independent one-stop resource for Photography for Yoga Teachers. We know the importance of creating original content that reflects your style and approach to Yoga and just how important it can be to get that just right.
